    Pistol grip versus ball shifter

I see 2 different shifters in Challengers...drove one with the ball-type shift knob, and really didn't like it. I see some got the pistol grip style, but not all. Is it a model year thing, or was the PG shifter an option...?

Is swapping one to the other difficult?

I believe the pistol grip shifters are an aftermarket thing. I know hurst makes some, but not sure who else.

I have seen too many on stock Challengers to think they're aftermarket.

As far as factory shifters go . .

    Pistol Grip = 2009 thru 2014

Looks like an aftermarket Hurst shifter.

Like I said, the factory shifter was a pistol grip until 2015.
