    Fcaus recall letter

Has anyone received a certified letter from fca about the air bag recall. Seems odd they would spend the money on certifying. I didn’t sign for it because if I didn’t get it, I can’t get blamed.

I'm confused. It seems like you don't want your defective, dangerous, recalled airbags replaced?

I second the confusion. Are we wanting to add airbag shrapnel to all of the shrapnel in an accident?

Guys your missing the question. Has anyone received a cert. letter?
It’s not the point of the replacement.
How many of you never bring your car back to the dealer because you don’t want a jacka$$ working on it??
    I haven’t because (a) I. Dont have time and (b) I don’t want a jacka$$ working in my car.

No, but then I didn't have to be harangued to do the bare minimum to avoid unnecessary pain and suffering should an accident occur, which I assume was the reason for a certified letter. Find a better dealer if you don't trust whatever one you're having problems with.

I just received a certified letter Friday. I guess I will make time to get it done in the near future.

Nobody missed it, including FCA Customer Service's forum account.

FCA is performing due diligence. Back before parts were widely available, they sent me multiple postcards, they called me numerous times (I had 3 LX's in my name that were covered under the airbag recall at the time) so they hounded me mercilessly. Once parts became available, the recalls were performed, and they don't bother me anymore...no certified letter was required.

They just want to be sure you replace those defective airbags and that it's clear in a court of law they were not negligent in informing the registered owner of the vehicle. In the event of a lawsuit, why you would not want them replaced will be a mystery to the jury as much as it's a mystery to the rest of us. Many of us distrust dealership service departments, but I distrust those airbags even more. Pick your battles.

This is a safety issue. There is zero excuse not to have them replaced.
