    Carvana giving me $20,600...Good?

Might sell my car to free up for a house buy. 16 RT, B5, 38,500K miles.
Carvana came back with $20,600. I was a bit shocked it was that high. KBB was $17K.
Anyone sell a car to them? Can't understand how they can give a accurate number when they haven't seen or drove it.

Could be supply and demand? I don't think fca is making cars right now.
I would cross check at carmax perhaps.

Check vroom as well. I heard good things about both carvana and vroom. Check reddit. Many people said you will get less money from carmax.

Also do online quote with autonation, they have similar service

If there is a CarMax within a couple hours drive it may be worthwhile. My bro sold his Audi to Vroom, but got it checked at carmax first. They offered him 1K more at carmax and vroom ended up matching it.

Better jump on that offer! lol
Waaay easier than dealing with a private sale too. Hand the car over and never look back, IMO

I decided to wait. I'll revisit it after summer. My other car I'd be driving, 02 Explorer, the AC sucks & FL summer is going to be brutal.

well I decided to follow your path and just sold my beloved scat pack to Carvana. I did not see this coming really, but I am working from home now since March and my company announced permanent work from home - no commute for me at least till next summer.

really sad but I figured i will lose a lot of money if I do not sell it now.

The process was the easiest process I've ever ever experienced. All online, they even going to deal with my loan company to pay-off the balance, and transfer the rest to my bank account directly.

the guy just showed up 10 minutes earlier the appointment time, did a quick test drive around neighborhood (with a big smile on his face) and I was done in 10 minutes.

vroom here too, sold a 2015 Ford F250 diesel to them for 50K, only had it 6 months and paid 52k when purchased... They came and picked it up even after I drove it a couple of weeks after the deal was made. Once papers were signed, had money in bank 2 days later..... very good experience

Well that explains your disappearance from here! Sad to hear though

Did you come out ahead/make any money?
Did you leave your mods on it, or take any of them off?

Thanks man. I lost 5k and had it for 1.5 years. Considering there is 5k rebate on a new one right now, I think it is fair. Carvana sells similar cars for 42k which is crazy because you can buy brand new and this is only MSRP minus rebate. So felt pretty good about price.

I did not really have lots of modes but I left diffuser on. Only removed luxe splash guards

I sold my 2014 BMW 335i to Carvana back in late June. They offered $2k above KBB, I believe, and $4k more than I still owed. At the time, I figured it wasn't a car I planned on keeping long term, so why continue to eat the depreciation when I wasn't even driving it. The plan was to save on car payments and insurance for a while and pick up something much later on when we resumed commuting back into the office, etc.

Of course, the Dodge Power Dollars rebate for Scat Packs was too tempting, and knowing that the window to place orders for 2020's was closing, I bit the bullet and placed my order about a month after I sold my car. Just took delivery of it last Friday, and ZERO regrets. I don't mind making payments towards a car I plan on keeping since that money was going to be spent anyways, and the extra savings I was able to net from the rebate and other things made it more than worthwhile.

Back to Carvana - really great experience. I had the car listed for a bit more on the BMW forums, and despite a few interested parties, no one seemed to be serious about actually buying. Also, the thought of having to meet up with strangers and offer test drives, etc. during a pandemic seemed a bit ridiculous. So, the fact that Carvana came in with a fair offer, and they came to pick up the car without even a test drive was really appealing. They wired me the funds the next day, and that was that. If the price they're offering is within the realm of reasonable, I'd sell to them again in a heartbeat. I've sold too many cars to private parties to want to do that again, and traded in too many cars for pennies on the dollar to dealers to want to do that again either.
