Crank snout is definitely different to account for the larger front cover. Tone wheel on crank is different as well.
Are the two rotating assemblies interchangeable? I know the cam is obviously not but not sure on the crank.
Does anyone know the piston CCs of both?

hrmmm. well ill be picking up an eagle 5.7 in a few hours. I was thinking of putting the rotating assembly in an early block and using a non vvt cam. but i guess ill see when i tear it apart. I dont have a early 5.7 crank anymore tho. So i cant compare the two on the bench.
This page is pretty decent. I’ve seen it before but never clicked out it bc I thought it was more real basic stuff about the 5.7 haha.

So crank is different. I could machine the taper down so I could use the pre eagle block. But it’s probably not worth it. I’ll most likely just use a vvt cam and lock it out.
