    180 Tstat Brands

My Jet 180 degree Thermostat has failed after about a year and a half and 10k miles. What brands do you guys have or recommend?

Motorad fail-safe. If it does fail, at least it will open instead of close. I had a two Mishimoto thermostats fail on me so definitely stay away from those. It was replaced with the Motorad and worked very well.

I'm using a Stant Super Stat. I had a Motorad regular-non-failsafe stat loose its wax and over heat me. The fail-safe thing seems to demonstrate a lack of confidence in the unit itself.
Their are mixed reviews on the unit as with anything reviewed, but if you live in the far north and it fails open in the dead of winter it can be an issue.

After installing the Stant Super Stat (made in china) I found out the regular Stant thermostat is made in the US. Go figure.

I think I used a Stant when I routinely replaced it when I changed the coolant. It's been working fine for several years.

I like and use Motorad thermostats and have always tested each one in a pot of boiling water to make sure its working before I install it in my car.

I ended up going with a "duralast" 180 tstat from autozone because I couldn't afford to wait on one to come in. I out duralast in quotations because when I inspected it, it turns out that the thermostat actually had motorad branding on it.
