Well the Modern Street HEMI Shootout season is finally under solid footing this year after a slow start!! We had a great event at Rockingham Dragway a couple weeks ago and now we are full steam ahead for the rest of our season. Entry fee always includes 2 classes, bracket and any other class.

Planning on making this one too. Just waiting on a few bits.

I see on the event facebook page the Truestreet team is raffling off their Charger with Hellcat transplant. Has the motor, brakes, seats, etc. 1 in 500 odds for $100 if all tix are sold.

I am relatively new to this community so please don't shoot me for the questions.... 1. I have a 2019 Scat Challenger is it possible to enter with it and what class would be best for that2. Is it beginner friendly? 3. What equipment is required to race? Thanks for the answers in advance.

Didn’t you break some records in the old days or something? There are probably new records to be broken.....

If you have never raced the MSHS before, you can run in the Rookie Class, you can also run in the bracket class and you can run an Index class, probably the 12.5 index, unless you can get down to the 11.5 class. You will need an approved helmet. The other guys will give all the help you will need, just ask.

The series and events are super beginner friendly. The class you choose will be based really on how your car performs and you will get some passes in before that point. We usually have an open runs session and if we are running behind, you will get a time trial in Bracket class first which will give you a good idea on which heads up class to choose.

Helmet is a must, long pants too.

Come on out, we hold a very informative drivers meeting in the morning and we make sure everyone is comfortable. We also have a welcome party friday night at the waldorf buffalo wild wings which is a great time to meet some folks and bounce things off of them too. Everyone is there to have a good time.

More info here for now but yes yes yes, beginner friendly.

This quote from Eastcoast Moparts, event sponsor for this weekends MSHS event at Maryland International Raceway!!!

    "Roll Call!!

Who wants $13,000.00?? Yes, that is the Purse for this event!!

    https://www.facebook.com/events/2103369473027597/?ti=ia

Who is going to come to our event? This is in our house! We have to show the MSHS crew how EastCoastMoparts customers roll! We will come in and clean house!

    You want to make passes?
This event is one to hit. The track is sticky and the bathrooms are spotless. You will not find prep like MDIR prep. Point blank!

    Want to hang out?
Got That too! We have a welcome party Friday after the rental.

    Want to show your car?
There is not an official car show, but there is always an unofficial car show, every time you stop. Bring it to the track and show it off!

Be there. Let’s do this peeps. If you have read this far and you know us, you know there will be a supply of free swag ready too. Only way to get it is to be there!

    Few MIR event notes:

Thursday drop offs - track will receive cars until 5pm, after 5 you will have to park in the grass area just outside the gate.

Friday - you can drop off if you are not running in the rental but you must be inside the gate prior to the night session or they will charge you for their normal fee. Must be on property by 5pm to not get this charge

Friday Tech for the weekend will be at 2pm. If you want to get teched in early, you must be in the gate by 2pm Friday or shortly thereafter.

Friday - For those that want to forgo the VanDrake Racing welcome party, the track has a night test and tune. They recommend the $35 N/T ticket as its pro tree and prepped to a higher standard before each round.

Friday the gate will collect for the weekend and wristband you for the weekend. I will be handling all track rental fee's personally.

Lets have a great weekend and let me know if you have any further questions.
