No ill effects, the 2015+ models that use the same rotor from the factory have a similar, if not identical front suspension design.

Thanks to you BM_SRT, I decided to go with the 8 piston upgrade for my '06 Charger SRT. I found your thread two years ago and shortly after went on the hunt. Came across european salvage yard that had an E55 with 42,xxx and was parting out. Long story short, I got both calipers for $650 out the door and had them transformed in shown pics.Capture+_2020-05-02-20-31-17.jpgIMG_20200214_170941_288.jpg

It's damn near a direct bolt on, but suggest you go back to the first page and read throughout the pages in succession because BM SRT has done extensive work on how this swap works.

You can use the 15.4" rotor or the 14.5" police package rotor.

There was some grinding on the knuckle but if you use the 15.4" rotor (Wagner makes a 1 piece version that is a great value) you may not need to grind due to the spacing. I dont know for sure because I used the smaller rotor first and did the grinding. Either way it's not too much of a hassle.

Also I just remembered I have a brand new extra set of pads if anyone wants some for a very good price. I sold the car so I dont need them anymore.

They are Stoptech Street Peformance. They are dusty but the only ones that have been completely silent. They have the best performance and bite of the ones I have tried.

FYI others I have tried were Jurid OEM MB formula (squealed unbelievably loud), Akebono (squealed at slow speeds coming to a stop) and Centric Posi Quiet ceramic (squealed at first cold stop but silent otherwise).

Not yet, I need to get rear calipers done in the same fashion and buy pads. Then I will mount them up.

Nice. Let me know if you have any interest in the pads I was using: Stoptech 309.09830.

By any chance, do you know the model # of the calipers?

Maybe not entirely helpful, but Centric's numbers for remans are 14235124 and 14235123 (left/right front) currently showing out of stock on Rockauto. Application is 2006 E55 AMG; last year for that model. I say "maybe not entirely helpful" because they appear to be out of stock everywhere, and even if you did find some in stock, they're remans so you have a $300/ea core charge if you don't have old ones to return.

No guarantees this is 100% accurate as we all know how website info can go, but this list of applications is shown for the same calipers, to give you cars to hunt for:

    MERCEDES-BENZ CL55 AMG 2003-2006
    MERCEDES-BENZ E55 AMG 2003-2006
    MERCEDES-BENZ S55 AMG 2003-2006
    MERCEDES-BENZ SL55 AMG 2003-2006
    MERCEDES-BENZ SL600 2004-2007

Man.. if I'd scored a set of those AMG silver 8 pistons for my front brake swap, I'd have been able to just leave them silver for my 300 and wouldn't have needed to sand/paint the red 6 piston Hellcat calipers!

Wow those are pricey, what's attracting you to those?

These were a guaranteed find for 8 piston pads, but I checked the price on the stoptechs and those look more appealing in price

I don't but ebay is a good source for that, the dismantlers will usually have an OE part number in the listing.

I know there is a post somewhere in this thread with more specifics but you are basically looking for a 2003-2006 AMG caliper from an E55, S55, CL55 or SL55. There is only one 8 piston caliper from that era and you can tell by how they look. You can use the caliper off of the V12 models (S65, CL65, SL65) which is the same, except that the removable bracket is a bit longer to accommodate the 390mm rotor on the V12 models versus the 360mm rotor on the V8 models. Mine was from an E55 and had to add a spacer on the bracket to make it fit the 15.4" Hellcat rotor. I have pics on the thread somewhere so check those out as I am going by memory from a few years back.
