    SRT setup question

It’s time to rebuild the front of my 05 Maggy R/T. Noticed the last couple weeks there is some weird wear on the front tires, and as i gradually turn in to sweeping corners while driving to work on the freeway the whole front of the explodes into shaking which can only be settled down by straightening the steering wheel. My problem is what to buy. I currently have the shocks and struts off of a 2007 Charger SRT. But looking for new struts and shocks comes up with alot of options. Anybody know a safe route to go replacing my SRT shocks and struts with new replacements? And what would be a decent suspension kit for rebuilding the front without ordering everything separately. Thanks!!

If you like the SRT setup over R/T just get new Bilsteins and springs from Mopar? In case you don't want to search and wait to find used rake-offs of unknown mileage and abuse, Bilstein still sells the shocks individually as "B6 Performance" shock absorbers for the '05-10 LXs. I'm sure there're cheaper options for factory replacements but I have no experience with any.

More importantly, I'd go to a quality alignment shop first to get it in spec and see what they have to say is shot. That way you're not just endlessly chasing random bits. And by quality shop I mean not the corporate repair facilities that just follow the computer and lasers, but one that can do custom alignments out of factory parameters (road racers and autocrossers in your area should have good recommendations).

Thanks TheFrankenberry, i appreciate the input. I was thinking that i just had to replace the struts and could
keep the current springs? Or is better to replace the springs also. I think these had 35k when i instaled them and they were great for another 35k. Now the front just rattles and clunks and feels really loose.
i noticed when i had a tire off a while back the UCA joint was shot. Then i forgot about it. Im guessing everything needs to be replaced now (180kmiles) but your right about having it checked out just to make sure. When i went to the dealer to ask about struts for a SRT they said since i didnt have a vin # there were a ton of options. I figured there would only be one for a SRT.

I just did something similar. I ordered strut assemblies and shocks for an SRT Magnum and put them in my R/T Magnum. I'm still running the R/T rear springs though. In my opinion, it's easier to swap the whole front assembly than to try and reuse the springs. It definitely changed the ride height a bit and the handling is much better!
