I replicated this on my SRT-8. It works perfectly. Thanks to PowerWagon for blazing this trail. The wheels come painted black, and I made mine silver using Duplicolor wheel paint from the local parts store.

Hey GUys, this is great for the fronts, but what's a guy to do when he wants to put some seious drag meats on for the rear? And on an SRT8 no less. I've been toying with the idea of haveing a custom set fabricated, but I do not really think that is cost effective of the budget racers that the majority of us are. Dan, ya got any suggestions for rear wheel combo for an SRT8?

17x9 wheels fit the rear.Alot of us are running Cobra R replicas and others are running a 17x9 American Racing wheels......then throw on the DR's of your choice.

Bogart Racing Wheels in Phoenix fabricates a beautiful 17 x 10.8 all-aluminum drag wheel for our current 5.7 and 6.1 Hemi cars. Total racing weight skinned with MT New ET Street Radial in P315/35R17 is a mere 40 pounds per side.

Drag tire is the new MT ET Street Radial in P315/35R17, wt. 23 pounds.
    Footprint: 11.6" wide
    Tire diameter: 26.5" tall
Drag wheel is a custom Bogart all aluminum 17x10.8, wt. 17 pounds.
    (Total package weight: 40 pounds)

    Rich Bogart, owner and engineer

The wheel is an elegantly simple, flat, smooth 5-spoke aluminum welded wheel, 10.8 x 17, with the word "Hemi" stamped into its face, beautifully polished to a mirror finish. Total weight is approx. 17 pounds.

Users: Meister, Trojan, Ozzie (pending), Fast56K (pending)

No clearance issues with large Brembos & large rear sway bar.

(Excuse the late response - just found this great thread. Mega kudos to Dan for his exemplary work in formulating this skinny front drag wheel/tire combo.)

And the Bogarts are how much? The Cobra R's are $130ea and weigh 46lbs with tire and the American racing are $190ea and weigh the same. And neither has issues with clearance to the caliper.

No....the tires that come on the spare tires say "TEMPORARY USE ONLY"in really big letters. The M&H tires are designed for drag racing......but you will need to get SXT spare wheels since they don't make the front tires in 18".

You'll have to contact Rich Bogart for the price Erik, but it's considerably more than the two prices you mentioned.

If those two wheels are really within 6 pounds of the weight of the Bogarts, ie., weigh 23 pounds or less, then the bang for the buck clearly goes to them.
