Sent HHP an email asking how their kit compares to MMX. HHPs kit is 200.00 more.

Can't get into shop for couple weeks anyway.

If you are doing any of the work yourself just watch a YouTube video on balancing the rods and pistons they have balancing pads you just need a scale.

I see packages say steel rings ready for boost and stainless rings ready for boost. Which is preferred?

Livernois kit $2200.00 bearing included Livernois Motorsports

    Kit includes the following:
    · Custom 6.4L Hemi Pistons (Built for boost, 2618 material, thicker ringlands, coatings, heavy wall pin)
    · Stainless Steel Ringset (Boost Ready)
    · H-Beam Forged Connecting Rods (no name on them)
    · Tri-Metal Performance Rod Bearings (????)

    HHP kit $2000.00 no bearings
    Specifications

    • Drop In 2618 Ross Piston 9.7:1 Compression for Stock Bore 392 made exclusively for HHP

    • Custom Manley Rods w/ ARP 2000 Rod Bolts made exclusively for HHP
    • Advanced Profile Total Seal Rings
    • 0.180 wall Tool Steel Wrist Pins
    • No Balancing Required!
    • Addition of valve reliefs to accommodate larger cam profiles and larger valves (2.165 intake of the Thitek's)
    • Oil Squirter Plugs Included (why? Should they not be used anymore with kits?)

I actually have no knowledge of stainless rings being better for boost or not. I just did some reading on it because now I am curious.

So this might drop us into the rabbit hole. But I had another ball home originally 180 grit. But the piston manufacturer that provided my rings were very clear on what grit to use if ball honing. This is strictly for break in only.

Now from what I know have read, the nitride coated steel rings are easy to break in and are very durable.

I know I ran 100 miles on Dinosaur oil and then 500 more miles on another batch of Dino oil. All for piston ring break in.

As far as oil squirters I know a lot of builders pull them out because they just find them in the bottom of the pan half the time. I elected to reinstall mine with new hardware and lock tight, purely because my pistons came with relief cuts in the skirts for the oil squirters.

Maybe I think you will be fine with either stainless or some of the steel nitride rings.

Figured I'd get a better sales pitch. Was asking to compare stoker kits, their price looked pretty good.
    6.4 Hemi 431 Stroker with Wiseco Pistons | CNC-Motorsports

    Cross them off the list.

I have no idea what those kits are and we don't have any discounts

Wonder if MODS should move this to here, Engine / Intake / Exhaust / Performance, since it's heading to a build now and not tuning.

Figured if I could get a deal on stroker kit I'd do that.

MMX 426 kit is 4260.00, their 411, 422, 426 High compression kits are about a 1000.00 less (3295.00), find the price difference odd, unless I'm missing something important.
