Wondering if Dodge is underrating the 485 HP for insurance purposes like everyone did in the 60's & 70's. 485 HP probably sounds better to insurance companies than 500+. Is there any dyno evidence of this ?

All the dyno runs I've seen stock 392s at 425-430 rwhp. With a 12% drive train loss that would put it right in the ballpark of the rated power. So many variables with dyno it's tough to say. Could be a bit underrated. All the SAE requires is that the engine must make at least the rated hp.
